Description White to off-white, free-flowing powder.
Solubility Insoluble in water. Forms a gel with mineral acids.
Identification
Identification Test – A (Calcium) Precipitate is insoluble when 6 N acetic acid is added but dissolves in hydrochloric acid.
Identification Test B Silica floats about in the bead, producing, upon cooling, an opaque bead having a web-like structure.
